Nurse (Nurse Manager) - Fredericksburg, Virginia
Help Duties

Nurse Manager (NM) is the designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other NMs as needed. The NM is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance. They function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team. They enhance care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge programs/processes.
Duties include but not limited to the following:

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
  • Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • They are self-directed and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives.
  • Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care.
  • The NM contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
  • Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution.

  • Communicates and collaborates as an effective leader of the inter-professional team, at the expert level, with improved evidence-based and/or data-driven outcomes for the immediate practice setting.
  • Improves Veteran/patient driven care by optimizing the patient experience, satisfaction and/or safety for the immediate practice setting.
  • Leads professional practice using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to improve evidence-based and/or data-driven outcomes for an identified patient population and/or specialized areas
    within immediate practice setting.
