An Interventionist II, under general supervision of the Clinical Services Supervisor, is a part of a 24-hour mobile crisis response team that works on both the warm/helpline and community response team that provides risk evaluation and stabilization services to youth/ families/ adults of Muskegon County. Interventionist II would be utilizing Evidence Based Practices to facilitate the crisis response which would include risk evaluation, development of safety/crisis plans, follow-up stabilization services to support consumers with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders and their family. Interventionist II will also provide education and support to community partners about the mobile response team, accessing mental health services and key factors to help support people with significant disabilities. This position will be hiring for all shifts that will also involve weekend support.

1.    Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social work or human services field; AND two (2) years of experience working with individuals with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance used disorders and experience working with individuals through crisis intervention and/or community engagement.  OR

High School Diploma or GED AND Five (5) years of experience working with individuals with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance use disorders and experience working with individuals though crisis intervention and/or community engagement; and knowledge of community resources.

2.    Possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30 days of employment.

3.    Must have reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this classification.

Preferred but not Required

1.    Bilingual candidates highly desired.

2.    Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.

3.    Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

An employee in this class performs generally sedentary work activity requiring occasional lifting of objects weighing

thirty-five (35) pounds or less.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

An Interventionist II works within the Client Services Offices and program locations of HealthWest as well as travels throughout the County to see individuals in their homes or other community locations by use of a company vehicle or

personal vehicle is required.

EVALUATION CONTENT

Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system.  For each opening, the Department Head has her/his choice of the candidates who meet the required minimum entrance qualifications.  This list remains in effect for three months unless exhausted or extended.
