Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.HDR is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in the Walnut Creek or Folsom, CA office. This individual will be responsible for the electrical design of facilities in support of a variety of markets including Technology, Corporate/Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Power, and Federal. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. They will be responsible for the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction.  This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound electrical engineering designs. Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Senior Electrical Engineer we'll count on you to:Perform, plan, direct, and monitor work of the electrical design on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceCoordinate electrical team staffing and workload to complete the Project on scheduleConduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesReview electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite/edit electrical specifications and select equipment, electrical systems and devicesCoordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsProvide construction contract administration as neededConduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators or TechniciansPerform other duties as neededQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasisMinimum 10 years experience in electrical engineering & design (lighting/power/systems) across ANY of the previously mentioned industries.PE Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systemsStrong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design softwareAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desiredFamiliarity with Revit MEPExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEEDWhy HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
