Asset Stewardship Analyst, State Street Global Advisors, AVP

The Asset Stewardship team is responsible for developing and implementing the firm's proxy voting and engagement guidelines, managing issuer engagement, and undertaking research and analysis of governance related issues. As a member of State Street Global Advisors' (SSGA) Asset Stewardship team, the individual in this role will be responsible for continuing to activities associated with SSGA's stewardship efforts as a fiduciary. This role will report to the Americas Head of Asset Stewardship. This role is based in Boston.

What you will be responsible for
As Asset Stewardship Analyst you will
- Contribute to voting and engagement activities with investee companies across the Americas region
- Work with our Stewardship team to engage, track and organize stewardship activities
- Build strong relationships with key vendors to support our stewardship activities and optimize our workflow
- Contribute to external reporting and the development of key insights and thought leadership
- Contribute to the wider investment agenda in areas including voting guidelines development
- Work closely with the Americas Head of Asset Stewardship to ensure success of our overall stewardship program
What we value

- 5+ years of experience in proxy voting and company engagement
- Strong understanding of stewardship activities and value-oriented narratives
- Ability to effectively navigate an increasingly complex environment and stay focused on our core fiduciary responsibility
- Proven ability to build a high-performing team to achieve desired results
- Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills with an engaging personality
- Ability to present information in an organized and clear fashion
- Strong interpersonal skills with comfort working independently and within a team setting
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, demonstrating initiative and the ability to prioritize workloads
- Candidates must be detail oriented
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. business, economics or finance) and/or CFA designation (or willingness to pursue these designations) would be beneficial.
