Overview LMI is seeking a C5ISR and Sensor Systems Director , reporting to the VP of Applied Systems and Technology (AS&T), to support our client delivery and growth, concentrating on accelerating innovation and enhancing LMI's reputation in AS&T's C5ISR and Sensor Systems domains
The C5ISR and Sensor Systems Practice Area Director will be responsible with formulating a strategy for the Practice Area that is coherent with AS&T's strategic goals for capability maturation, business development, and talent management
This position can be supported remotely but candidate must have ability to travel to client sites and/or LMI Headquarters as needed
An ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter, committed to delivering practical and effective solutions through an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach
The candidate will exhibit proficiency in project execution, leadership, staff management, critical thinking, quality control, relationship management, and business growth, while maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct
The Director should have experience in one or more of the following focus areas: command, control and network architecture design and implementation, UAV, ground, 5G and/or space communications and signal processing, edge compute, electronic warfare and EM spectrum operations, ISR and threat management to include CBRNE surveillance and threat detection, image and signal processing and exploitation, sensor design, lidar imaging, optics, IOT, SOSA, and quantum sensing and applications

Responsibilities The Director will guide and facilitate the team of experts within the C5ISR and Sensor Systems domain, enhancing internal knowledge, elevating client support, and identifying opportunities to extend LMI's offerings to our clientele
The role involves the development and codification of the C5ISR and Sensor Systems Practice Area in alignment with LMI's strategic goals
Additional responsibilities include working internally and externally to establish LMI as a thought leader and trusted agent who can leverage its deep customer and domain knowledge to drive effective digital transformation
Specific responsibilities include:
• Capability Maturation & Strategy:
• Craft the C5ISR and Sensor Systems Practice Area strategy to align with AS&T's overarching goals.
• Innovate and document solutions and offerings that resonate with market trends and address client needs.
• Ensure the visibility of the Practice Area's capabilities within LMI and their alignment with customer requirements.
• Advance current capabilities and create new ones to keep ahead in a rapidly evolving and digitally-transformative market.
• Enhance communication and collaboration across various expertise within LMI to address complex challenges.
• Business Development and Growth:
• Assist significantly in expanding the C5ISR and Sensor Systems portfolio.
• Support solution development, capture efforts, and proposals in coordination with market and growth teams.
• Develop materials to enable sales and growth within the Practice Area.
• Screen and contribute to RFIs and RFPs for qualification and potential action.
• Engage proactively in identifying and acting on market trends and opportunities.
• Integrate LMI's comprehensive services to propose holistic solutions across all of LMI.
• Community Mentorship and Development:
• Cultivate talent within the Practice Area, managing hiring processes and nurturing subject matter experts.
• Manage the hiring process for talent demands within the Practice Area (create, review, and approve reqs).
• Identify and inspire recognized key C5ISR and Sensor Systems Defense personnel (military, government, academia, and industry) to join the LMI team.
• Assist Resource Managers and SSL Director with staff redeployments and internal mobility.
• Mature the CBRNE Practice Area bench by identifying and mentoring subject matter experts and emerging talent and maintaining awareness of desired growth areas of staff within the Practice Area.
• Guide assigned Practice Area personnel towards professional training and development opportunities to broaden or deepen their skills, knowledge, and abilities, including certifications, degrees, professional organizations, and work experience.
• Providing formal recognition, periodic feedback, and input and support to Practice Area staff on Performance 365 goals and calibrations.
• Encouraging and supporting collaboration within the C5ISR and Sensor Systems LMI Community of Practice (CoP)
Qualifications
• 10+ years of pertinent experience with a STEM-related BS degree, or 7 years with a STEM-related MS degree or PhD.
• Acumen in C5ISR, Sensor Systems, or a related technical arena, with experience at a strategic level.
• At least 3-5 years' experience in management consulting or federal government service, executing capabilities in the C5ISR and Sensor Systems Practice Area (military or civilian).
• Proven interaction and relationships with relevant government customers in the DOD and/or Intelligence Community.
• Demonstrated management skills in a consulting or federal service environment.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead, nurture, and develop people in an effective way with positive impacts to both the employee and LMI.
• Self-motivated, proactive, independent performer who can perform well in a collaborative, team environment.
• Superior communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrated ability to present technical material to Government officials as required.
• Minimum active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to secure a Top Secret clearance.
• This position can be supported remotely but candidate must have ability to travel to client sites and/or LMI Headquarters as needed
Desired Skills:
• Graduate level degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in program management within relevant technical domains.
• Relevant certifications in technology management or program management.
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills.
• TS/SCI clearance or above is desired.
