Position Description

* Diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures and provides preventive and corrective services.
* Completes fillings (amalgam, composite) and single crowns.
* Provides periodic exams for all the hygiene patients.
* Triages, evaluates, and treats emergency patients.
* Advises and instructs patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services. Communicate and build a strong foundation of trust and respect between you and your patients.
* Assess treatment planning options and discuss with patients to work cooperatively with HDC dental specialists to provide the best possible care for patients.
* Refers to HDC specialists for multiple crowns, implants, dentures, orthodontics, and periodontal disease.
* Provides same-day add-on services.
* Utilizes HDC electronic health record (EHR) system, axiUm, for all clinical documentation.
* Clinical documentation and treatment notes are completed on the same day via EHR system.
* Patient billing and documentation is submitted on the same day via EHR system.
* Partners with HDC Leadership to identify trends to improve clinical care and patient experience.
* Partners with Patient Services staff on patient scheduling and communication.
* Work is performed on site in a clinical setting.
* Complies with federal and state regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, DPH, AAMI, ANSI).
* Contributes to the mission and vision of HSDM and models the School's core values in all facets of the work. Promotes a customer service environment, including providing support to multiple constituents including faculty, staff, and students.
* Contributes to a culture of inclusivity and respect.
* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
