As an AT Engineer you will:

  • Engage with technical teams to maintain health and accountability of AT systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with disabled employees and applicants, as well as IT and Security colleagues, to implement cutting edge technology within a complex secure system.
  • Work to make business and mission applications accessible for uses of all abilities.
  • Collaborate with Reasonable Accommodations Managers (RAMs) to assess and help implement a variety of reasonable accommodation requests involving Assistive Technology and other specialized equipment and software.

Job Summary Assistive Technology (AT) Engineers collaborate with the Reasonable Accommodations Managers to provide reasonable accommodation requests involving assistive technology and specialized equipment. AT Engineers also support Agency partners to improve access to electronic and information technology for employees with disabilities.

Qualifications The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position.

SENIOR

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree plus 3 years of relevant experience. Degree must be in Computer Science, or a related STEM technical field.

Relevant experience must be in the design and engineering of assistive technology and in an area of employment of people with disabilities (e.g., group home and school system).

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.

Salary Range: $129,239 - 187,662 (Senior) Salary range varies by work level and relevant experience to the position.

On the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirement between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (flexible).
