3 weeks ago

Boston MA USA, United States Partners Healthcare System Full time
This is an excellent full-time opportunity for recent college graduates or foreign-trained physicians with an interest in medicine and/or clinical research. Working with us as an emergency department (ED) clinical research coordinator is a great way to experience medicine and clinical research. You will be embedded in our clinical work and interact closely with patients, nurses, physician assistants, doctors-in-training, faculty, and other staff. You will learn about the scientific, ethical, and organizational underpinnings of clinical research and medicine in general.

Our projects include but are not limited to clinical trials in addiction, infectious disease, neurology, cardiovascular critical care, novel point-of-care test devices, behavioral health emergencies, advanced care planning, and state-of-the-art digital health innovations such as digital pills, emergency ultrasound, and other novel medical technology. We also conduct studies exploring social determinants of health, health policy, community-oriented healthcare, and public surveillance projects.

This position will allow you to experience research and medicine from multiple perspectives:

* Tertiary-level ED-based research (Brigham and Women's Hospital)
* Community ED-based research (Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital)
* Inpatient-based research
* Outpatient-based research
* Public health-oriented research

You will also have direct access to the department's Research Director, research faculty members, and other staff who will mentor you in your career development. You will emerge from this experience with a terrific understanding of clinical research and medicine.

In summary, this is a position for someone who has an interest in healthcare research and wants to plan a career in research or someone who wants to equip themselves with exposure to a fast-paced clinical environment before applying to medical, PA, nursing, or graduate schools or is preparing for medical residency.
