PATIENT SERVICE REP

- Provide clerical support by answering telephones, scheduling and registering patients.
- Appointment scheduling, managing referrals, obtaining authorizations, inbasket management, etc.
- Verify insurance coverage, obtain patient demographics, ensure necessary authorizations are obtained prior to patient visits, and may troubleshoot billing problems.
Requirements:
- Education/ Knowledge, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Experience in a high-volume specialty physician practice office as typically acquired in one year.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of managed care, Medi-Cal, Medicare eligibility, authorization and billing requirements and physician billing procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Access and similar programs.
- Experience in medical office setting and IDX system desired.
Skills
- Ability to identify problems, prioritize, and problem solve.
- Basic keyboarding and computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of English language, grammar and composition.
- Basic math skills demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Medical billing skills sufficient to coordinate authorization and billing requests.
- This position requires this patient health information in order to perform the functions outlined as part of this position description.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
