The Opportunity

The occupational therapy team at Central Maine Medical Center is seeking an experienced Acute Care/Acute Rehab Occupational Therapist for a PRN opportunity on the inpatient team.

This position makes a direct positive impact on the Lewiston community by providing therapy services to CMMC's inpatient population. What You'll Do

* Evaluate inpatients and develop a comprehensive treatment plan to restore these patients to their maximum functional potential, according to acceptable principles and practices of occupational therapy.
* Direct therapeutic intervention for the restoration of patient's functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability.
* Provide care to patients in the acute care setting.
* Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
* Collaborate as a member of the healthcare team for the provision of comprehensive patient care.
* Consistent with training and competency review, provides care to Inpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
* Maintains training and competency as applicable in regulatory requirements such as JCAHO (if applicable), and state and federal regulations and standards.
* Coordinate, delegate and supervise responsibilities assigned to assistants, aides, etc.
* The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities.

* Strong written and verbal skills.
* Basic computer skills.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Position

* Current State Occupational Therapy Licensure.
* Current BCLS certification.
