The RN Lung Nodule Coordinator will oversee and manage patients identified that have an incidental lung finding in an AST facility through the emergency department, inpatient units and ED, IP and pre-surgical scans or had nodule discovered through a lung cancer screening. Pulmonary and thoracic surgery will be the main physician champions leading these efforts. The goal of this position is to help detect early stages of lung cancer.

**Responsibilities**

Serve as a patient navigator throughout the continuum of care.

+ Function as a liaison for management staff, administration, physicians, managed care companies, community organizations, and other customers.

+ Coordinate efforts for treatment and promote quality improvement and educational efforts.

+ Compile data, track outcomes, and make recommendations for process improvement.

+ Provide referrals/support for follow-up care for patients who are uninsured or underinsured.

**Requirements**

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

+ Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition Compact State obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

+ BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

+ Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time ofhire.

**Additional Preferences**

+ EON Software (not required, training available)

+ Cerner (not required, training is available)

+ EMR experience (not required, training is available)

+ Knowledge and experience in lung cancer diagnosis, lung cancer screening guidelines, Lung-RADS for low-dose CT scans and Fleischner Society Guidelines for incidental lung nodules

+ Strong oncology knowledge
