JOB GOAL:

Assist in the implementation of school district health standards.

Performance Responsibilities:

* Provides direct nursing care to students and staff in accordance with professional standards, school policies and procedure, and state and local mandates
* Maintains accurate, complete records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation
* Collects and maintains current health-related data, i.e. medical records, incident of diseases, physical and immunization records
* Administers and monitors medication, subject to local policy regarding the administration of medication at school
* Strives to remain current in the field of nursing through professional growth activities, workshops, in-services
* Provides crisis intervention support and/or emergency care for students and/or staff in the event of sudden illness or injury
* Serves as a liaison between home, school, community health agencies and the private medical sector
* Cooperates with staff, administration, and parents to promote and maintain a sound healthy learning environment
* Serves on building and/or district committees as requested
* Participates in School Improvement Processes
* Administers hearing and vision tests, contingent upon appropriate certification
* Monitors students with specific medical needs
* Performs other health or school related duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 days Classified position with salary and hours to be established by the Board of Education

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the

provisions established by the Board of Education.

SALARY RANGE: RN: $20.00

LPN: $18.00
