HDR is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join a rapidly growing team in Colorado.In the role of Senior Hydrogeologist, we'll count on you toLead complex hydrogeologic investigations with a focus on complex fractured rock settings commonly found in the Rocky Mountain RegionOversee data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation including:Building complex dynamic Conceptual Site ModelsDeveloping and overseeing high resolution site characterization strategiesUsing modern Remediation Hydrogeology concepts (such as mass flux/discharge or DNAPL assessment) to develop complex groundwater remediation strategiesField groundwater level and quality data collection methodsFamiliarity with design, construction and development of groundwater monitoring wellsDevelopment of geologic and hydrogeologic cross-section development utilizing geologic and geophysical dataGeospatial and geostatistical analysisIsotope analysisInterpretation of subsurface aquifer conditions on a site and regional scaleDevelopment of hydrographs and other graphic presentation of hydrogeologic dataLead the assessment of groundwater contaminant plume dynamics and make recommendations for the management and/or remediation of contaminant plumesBe viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity.Project management including direction of junior staff, providing technical review and oversight and mentoringReport and proposal preparation including scopes of work, project budgeting, tracking, and schedulesClient interaction and presentationsPerform other duties as neededQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Resources or closely related fieldA minimum of 10 years of analysis, modeling and design and management experienceProject management skills a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred QualificationsProfessional Geologist (PG) certificationAdvanced degree in Geology, Geosciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or closely related fieldStrong technical knowledge and background in Rocky Mountain Region geology and hydrogeologyKnowledge of federal (i.e. CERCLA, RCRA, CWA) and Colorado environmental regulationsActive in Professional SocietiesFamiliarity with MODFLOW, MT3DMS and numerical and analytical related softwareRequires ability to travel Experience conducting hydrogeologic assessments and updating conceptual site models at active, inactive, and abandoned mine sites or projectsKnowledge of State well-permitting processes as well as water rights and regulations in the Rocky Mountain RegionExperience implementing passive and/or active water treatment systemsExperience implementing and assessing flow control structuresExperience with directional drilling into mine workings and fault zone structures40-hour HAZWOPER, 30-hour OSHA Construction, and MSHA 40-hour Underground Miner trainingLocal candidates preferredWhy HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
