The Nurse Navigator at Montgomery Cancer Center coordinates referrals, patient care, testing and follows up with physicians, nursing staff and other health professionals, including internal and external health care providers to ensure high quality patient outcomes are accomplished within the established time frame and appropriate use of resources. Navigator will also assess at risk populations to identify individuals who may benefit from ancillary service providers.Description

  • Active RN license.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three years nursing experience required.
  • Two years oncology experience preferred.
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred upon employment, required within six months of employment
  • BLS and ACLS certification preferred on hire, will be required within 6 months of employment.
  • Basic Computer skills, including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet required.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interact with coworkers and the public in a courteous, cooperative and professional manner.
  • Good organizational skills with an ability to set priorities, organize work activities and meet required deadlines.
