* Emergency care 24/7
* Orthopedic and joint replacement services using emerging technology
* Cardiovascular services
* Maternity care and pediatric services
* Ambulatory surgery center
* Imaging services
* Outpatient Rehabilitation Center

Position Overview:

* The Emergency Department Technician II is a non-professional, emergency medical technician who assists with the direct care of emergency department patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse and who performs other essential non-direct patient duties.
* The ED Technician II performs EKG's, assists the physician with procedures/suturing, applies splints, performs wound care, takes vital signs and weights, collects specimens, performs CPR and assists the nursing staff as delegated.
* The ED Technician additionally transports patients via wheelchair or gurney and provides safety and comfort for patients and their families.
* The ED technician II supervises the ED Technician I and is responsible for twenty-four hour coverage of ED Technicians in the Emergency Department and for completing a schedule with appropriate coverage.
* The ED Technician II is a mentor for new hires and existing staff and contributes to the orientation process.
* The ED Technician II uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels, and is able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
* Greets patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, obtains demographic and medical information for registration and identification.
* Fosters a supportive environment and promotes customer service by assisting with JFK's goals in obtaining 100 percent satisfaction rates among our most important constituents.

Position Qualifications:

* CPR
* EMT Certificate
* Two (2) years Emergency Technician Experience
* Basic Computer Skills
* AB-508 Nonviolent Crisis Intervention course within six (6) months of hire



Pay Range: $20.42 - $27.44

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications and experience
