Location: Remote (home-based)- While this position is remote, occasional travel to the Atlanta office (2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive) and in-state travel is required.

Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning is responsible for meeting the child care and early education needs of Georgia's children and their families. It administers the nationally recognized Georgia's Pre-K Program, licenses child care centers and home-based child care, administers the Georgia Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program, federal nutrition programs, and manages Quality Rated, Georgia's community powered child care rating system.

The Department also houses the Head Start State Collaboration Office, distributes federal funding to enhance the quality and availability of child care, and works collaboratively with Georgia child care resource and referral agencies and organizations throughout the state to enhance early care and education.

Job Description:

Under supervision of the Marketing and Outreach Manager, this position will assist with the recruitment and retention of the organizations that participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Happy Helpings, Georgia's Summer Food Service Program.

Job Responsibilities:

Outreach

* Recruit organizations to participate in Happy Helpings and CACFP. Responsibilities include:

o Identifying and contacting organizations that are eligible to participate in Happy Helpings and CACFP.

o Partnering with local groups, leaders and organizations that are interested in implementing Happy Helpings or CACFP in their community.

o Hosting monthly presentations to promote the availability of Happy Helpings and CACFP.

o Following up with organizations that have expressed an interest in participating in Happy Helpings and CACFP.

o Attending community events and managing a table and/or booth to promote Happy Helpings and CACFP.

Marketing

* Produces two monthly newsletters to keep sponsors and institutions informed. Responsibilities include:

o planning, organizing, requesting and writing appealing content for the specific audience.

o editing and proofreading newsletters for grammar, spelling, style, and punctuation.

o ensuring newsletters are delivered on deadline.

* Manages, edits and schedules department specific email announcements and delivers on deadline.
* Serves as a Nutrition Services liaison within the agency to promote CACFP and Happy Helpings.
* Plans, organizes and executes special events to promote CACFP and Happy Helpings.
* Runs routine reports and compiles data.

Social Media

* Creates monthly strategic social media calendar and writes creative content to promote CACFP and Happy Helpings.
* Engages social media followers by monitoring and replying to comments, using high-quality graphics, posting frequently and creating live videos or reels.
* Researches and implements social media trends that are relevant to Nutrition Services marketing initiatives.
* Analyzes and manages key performance indications for campaigns and makes recommendations for improvement.

Technical Competencies:

* Excellent oral and written communication.
* Ability to manage own time and work without direct supervision. This includes being organized, setting priorities, meeting deadlines and following up with stakeholders.
* Ability to critically think and creatively problem solve.
* Ability to comprehend program aspects of CACFP and Happy Helpings.
* Demonstrated ability to manage the delivery of services and processes with accuracy and within federal and state requirements.
* Ability to instill exemplary customer service as a program foundational value and priority.
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CANVA and Constant Contact.
* Familiarity with Adobe Suite (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and social media content creation (i.e., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) is desired.
* Reliable attendance is an essential function of this position; consistent availability to work scheduled appointments and adhering to report deadlines is required.
* Experience working with diverse communities and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of various participants.

Physical Requirements and Performance Aptitudes:

* Requires the ability to receive and comprehend detailed information through oral communication.
* Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
* Must possess reliable transportation.
* Must have a valid Georgia driver's license.
* Statewide and out-of-state travel may be required to assist with hosting events and/or to attend training.
* Some weekend work is required during peak program times.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field from an accredited college or university OR Three years of communications or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following items below:

* Advanced level skill in the use of Excel.
* Excellent business writing, organizational, and computer skills.
* High level of skill in research and analysis with the ability to form conclusions and recommendations based on analysis.
