Position Summary:

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for localization of treatment areas and administration of radiation treatments to patients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Graduated from an accredited Radiation Therapy school

+ American Heart Association BLS

+ American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

+ Three (3) years of experience in a similar role and knowledge of electronic health record operating systems.

Essential Job Functions:

+ Administers radiation therapy

+ Ensures all documents required for treatment are completed.

+ Performs simulations and simulation radiography (i.e. CT, MRI, and PET) to localize treatment area while confirming treatment plan with the Radiation Oncologist.

+ Educates patient regarding procedure on first day of treatment.

+ Observes all safety regulations concerning ionizing radiation both for self and patients and reporting any incidence outside of normal operating parameters to the Medical Physicist.

+ Attends weekly chart rounds and monthly department meetings.

+ Maintains a safe and clean environment within the work setting.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment

+ Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health

+ Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

+ Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines

+ Works varied shifts as scheduled and/or needed
