Your role as a Registered Nurse (RN) will allow you to serve the community by assessing for and administering oral food challenges during the morning clinic hours. You'll join a creative and passionate team of physicians and clinical staff. This role offers plenty of opportunity to grow your skills as a Registered Nurse and expand your knowledge in healthcare

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform assessments to determine patient eligibility for food challenges, based on medical history and current symptoms.
  • Educate patients and their families about the purpose, process, and potential risks of food challenges, ensuring informed consent prior to the procedure.
  • Prepare and administer food challenge protocols according to established guidelines and protocols, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times.
  • Monitor patients closely throughout the food challenge procedure, assessing vital signs, symptoms, and any adverse reactions promptly and appropriately.
  • Collaborate closely with allergists and other team members to ensure coordinated care and timely interventions during food challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, procedures, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives with the allergy clinic, identifying opportunities for process optimization and patient-centered care enhancements.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements, infection control protocols, and safety standards to ensure a safe and welcoming clinic environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an allergy, immunology, or pediatric setting.
  • Current BLS required. Additional certification with ACLS or PALS preferred.
