SUMMARY

The role of the lead paramedic nurse extender is a critical position within the emergency medical services (EMS) team. This individual plays a key leadership role in various aspects of emergency care, with a focus on the coordination & management of resources in the Emergency Care Center (ECC), Major Trauma Center (MTC), and communication channels. Act as the primary leader among paramedic nurse extenders, providing guidance, direction, & support to ensure a cohesive & efficient team. Coordinate activities within the ECC and MTC, ensuring smooth operations and optimal patient care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and other emergency personnel, to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Oversee the delivery of emergency medical care in the ECC, including triage, assessment, and treatment of patients. Ensure adherence to established protocols and guidelines for emergency medical interventions.

Marcus Trauma Center (MTC) : Lead the paramedic nurse extender team in responding to major trauma cases, coordinating efforts to stabilize and transport patients efficiently. Work closely with trauma surgeons and other specialists to ensure a coordinated and timely response to critical cases. Implement and enforce trauma care protocols and best practices.

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Associate Degree in the field of Paramedicine required.
* Bachelor's Degree in field of Paramedicine preferred.
* Three (3) or more years job related experience and/or EMT of greater than 2 years of experience required.
* Five (5) or more years job related experience and/or EMT of greater than 2 years of experience preferred.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
* Basic Life Support (BLS)
* Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
