A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a BOM Coordinator to join their team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure supply chain of components are ready for service production to run and meet shipments
  • Communicate shipment status with customers via email, phone, web conference and customer portals
  • Coordinate build plans with Production Schedulers and the Area Managers to ensure proper allocation to meet the service plan
  • Plan and schedule internal and external logistics and/or expedites as needed within internal and external guidelines
  • Update scorecards and develop reports to communicate build and delivery performance against plan
  • Effectively communicate competing priorities to ensure the highest possible customer satisfaction
  • Ensure labor and BOM are correct for costing, update accordingly
  • Initiate a weekly service-planning meeting to communicate and coordinate with internal service suppliers and customers
  • Participate in APU meetings and planning meetings as required
  • Assist, as needed, with other planning, scheduling, or customer reporting activities
  • Available for after-hours support or guidance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with purchasing, shipping/receiving, manufacturing, management, and other plant and office personnel. Strong Customer Service focus. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of MAPICS and AS400. Must understand material flow and supply chain in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; and 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
