DutiesYou will direct the RACEMM Laboratory at the Radar and Antenna Systems Engineering Division.You will mentor less experienced engineers on the fields of CEM modeling, antennas, and analysis.You will perform necessary multi-discipline engineering trade-offs to resolve major controversial technical problems in the specialty area.You will represent the Division/Department on a program’s system design team to provide specialized technical expertise.You will be responsible for design, specification, and implementation of system/subsystems in the technical specialty field., and perform studies and analyses necessary to justify selection of one design over another.You will manage and lead a technical team in the design, specification, and implementation of antennas and CEM analysis, and assess performance of personnel supporting the assigned area.You will negotiate within the department, with other departments, and with other government activities and educational institutions as required

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Execution of computation electromagnetics (CEM) modeling and simulation for antenna and radar systems; 2) Knowledge of antenna design and measurements; 3) Conducting financial and task planning and execution of multiple projects in a modeling and simulation laboratory; 4) Developing computer models of stand-alone or integrated antenna systems on platforms; 5) Executing CEM modeling and simulation; 6) Building 3-D computer models of aircraft, ships, and building structures for use in CEM modeling analysis.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)

Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
