Responsibilities

  • Put instruments away, take instruments to the operating room, and troubleshoot problems when needed. 
  • Actively participates in quality and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Ensures accurate documentation of the sterilization process and actively reports abnormalities to leadership. 
  • Participate in receiving and reprocessing activities related to loaner and consignment sets. 
  • Under the direction of the department Educator, may serve as preceptor to new staff or operating room staff cross-training to Sterile Processing. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned to support surgical services. 

Qualifications

Job requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent 

Preferred requirements:

  •  CRCST or CSPDT or CST certificate 
  • Previous experience in healthcare
