Primary Purpose of the Position
Teach and facilitate face to face clinical instruction related to the application of nursing theories, principles, and skill competencies. Coach and mentor students during the clinical experience and beyond.

Requirements and Preferences
Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies No Minimum Experience/Education
* Master of Science in Nursing Education. Under special circumstances, consideration may be given to persons with a baccalaureate degree with preparation in teaching and learning principles in adult education as defined by the Board of Nursing (such as Clinical Teaching in Associate certification, and/or in the process of completing CTA certification).
* Minimum of two (calendar) years' full-time employment or equivalent in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse verified with the Board of Nursing.
* Work experience and/or teaching experience in the area of Child Health nursing.
* Current unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina

* Minimum of 2 years
* Preparation in teaching and learning principles pedagogy as defined by the Board of Nursing
* Exhibit the ability to engage in interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and scholarly collaboration with the broader constituencies

* Demonstrate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office and Canvas platforms
Required License or Certification
Current unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina, CTA certification or in the process of completing certification if you do not meet the Board of Nursing verified teaching requirements.
Valid US Driver's License No Commercial Driver's License Required No Physical Required No List any other medical/drug tests required Upon hiring, must complete the Division of Nursing 12 panel drug screen.

1. Conduct the clinical component of the course (face-to-face and virtual if applicable)
2. Correlate classroom content to the clinical setting
3. Facilitate students' achievement of course objectives
4. Facilitate mastery of skills and competencies
5. Utilize multiple and varied teaching methods applicable to the clinical learning environment
6. Serve as a nursing resource person for healthcare and local agencies
7. Model professionalism in social and civic areas
B. Professional Development
1. Evidence of continued professional development and/or certification in a specialty area of practice and professional organization
2. Utilize feedback from student/faculty evaluations for instructional improvement
3. Serve as a role model for students in the professional, social, and civic area
C. Research and Investigation
1. Utilize evidence-based research in teaching and the practice of nursing
