General Description

Under limited supervision of the Director of Psychological Services Division, we are looking for two Staff Psychologists, one whose focus is on evaluations and another who completes psychological evaluations as well as therapeutic services for the Lake County Courts. The Staff Psychologist provides consultations with the Probation staff regarding psychological issues for probation clients and by performing the following duties.

Hours of Work

* Generally, Monday - Friday 8 hours per day
* Flexible Schedule of remote and on-site work

Essential Functions

* Conducts fitness-to-stand trial evaluations for the Lake County Courts.
* Conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations for defendants waiting to be sentenced in the Lake County Courts.
* Conducts psychological evaluations of Adult probationers.
* Provides individual and group therapy services to Adult probation clients.
* Provides crisis intervention to probation clients when needed.
* Completes certificates for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization of probation clients when necessary.
* Triages cases
* Provide psychoeducational groups based on evidence-based practices to adults on probation that include anger management, parenting skills, others as assigned/needed.
* Provides clinical supervision to psychology practicum students.
* Provides consultations to Probation Officers regarding clinical issues involving probationers.
* Conducts in-service training for probation staff on psychology-related topics.
* Seeks out and attends professional conferences and training workshops for personal development.
* All other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required

* Candidates have a strong interest in working with dual-diagnosis clients
* Knowledge/experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and Trauma-Informed Care.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the administration and interpretation of psychological assessments
* Ability to make accurate DSM-5/DSM-5TR diagnoses
* Ability to supervise and train psychology interns and other staff
* Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and clients
* Comprehensive knowledge of best clinical practices and treatment
* Demonstrates competent written and verbal communications while having the ability to work independently

Education and/or Other Requirements:

* Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.
* A minimum of 1 year of postdoctoral clinical experience and licensed in Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist.
* Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and live in Illinois at time of hiring or within six (6) months of employment.
