Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

General Description
Make a difference in the lives of our clients by providing medical care at our Addictions Treatment Program and Crisis Care Programs as an APRN Works with a team consisting of RNs, LPNs, a Psychiatric Provider, Program Coordinators, and mental health/substance use counselors to manage the medical needs of the clients on the units.
As the APRNyou will independently provide the medical care and follow-up on 3 residential units as follows:
* 16-bed substance use rehab unit
* 6-bed substance use detox unit
* 8-bed psychiatric respite unit.
Scheduled Hours:20 hours a week
* Hours are determined based on the needs of the clinic
Essential Functions
* At least (1) one year of family or adult practitioner experience
* Full Practice Authority
* History & Physicalexaminations and management of all chronic and acute medical conditions while individuals participate in substance use withdrawal management ("Detox"), rehabilitation and CCP respite.
* Medical screenings of potential clients and approval of medical admission to the programs.
* Medical and addiction treatment for substance use rehabilitation clients when appropriate, including prescribing Medicinal Addiction Treatment (MAT).
* Medical care of substance use and psychiatric clients in a residential setting.
* Coordinating care with nurses, counselors, and psychiatric care providers when needed.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required
* Master'sor Doctoral Degree in Nursing required.
* A current active and unrestricted license from the State of Illinois as an Advanced Practice Nurseis required (or a letter from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation stating that the application for licensure endorsement has been approved, with receipt of Illinois license following within six months of the initial application date for endorsement).
* Initial and continuing certification by a national certifying body as one (or more) of the following:
* Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Preferred
* Adult Nurse Practitioner
* Current active and unrestricted Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) from the State of Illinoisis required.
* Registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)is required.
* CARA Act waiver from the DEA is required.
* At least 1 year of experience providing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) half-time, or equivalentpreferred.
