We are looking for a Director of Environmental, Health and Safety to oversee the creation and development of a Global Environment Health & Safety (EHS) strategy and toolkit. You will provide team leadership and coaching on achieving world-class performance related to environmental health and safety and coordinating all interaction with internal and external EHS resources. You will manage EHS team at our operations to comply with all applicable regulations and to create the necessary standards to achieve a safe and productive workplace and minimize the impact to the environment.You will report into our SVP of Operations, and can be based in one of our four locations: San Carlos, CA, San Jose, CA, Devens, MA, or Natick, MA . This is an in-person, onsite position with 25% travel requirement.Role and ResponsibilitiesImplement a safety-first culture through involvement and progress with site leadership and operational teamsMonitor, interpret, and assess existing or emerging EHS laws, regulations, regulatory policies, industry practices, and determine operational and business impacts domestically and internationallyHelp plan and participate in EHS compliance audits and assessing compliance with EHS standards and local/regional regulatory requirementsIdentify plant construction safety hazards and hazard mitigation strategies associated with regulatory compliance and accepted consensus standards for large-scale hydrogen generation plantsCollaborate with Environmental Project Managers of customer and their EPC to identify and mitigate associated issues for successful project executionManage OSHA requirements and reporting, externally and internallyManage EHS training program strategy, content, and deploymentBuild and implement an environmental emissions monitoring program across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissionsQualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental science or engineering discipline15+ years of experience in EHS and Sustainability with international exposure10+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing, laboratory, or industrial settingsUnderstanding of medium voltage electrical safety and process safety related issuesKnowledge of Federal, State and Local safety and environmental laws and regulations. (OSHA, EPA, DOT, FAA., and other applicable local requirements)Technical and practical proficiency of EHS issues across research and development, manufacturing, construction and chemical operationsExperience implementing safety controls for electrochemical systems, automated manufacturing processes, Hydrogen technologies, high pressure systems, cryogenic fluids, flammable liquids, and related technologies and process/material hazardsExperienced in using management tools (TOC, Kaizen, Six Sigma, PPI)Experienced in developing Management Systems based on ISO14001 and ISO45001#LI-OnsiteCompensation and Benefits | M5San Carlos Zone$208,000—$250,000 USDActual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.Base salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package.
