DRAYAGE DISPATCHER

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling transportation services to ensure timely delivery of goods. Your strong organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in this role. If you have experience in transportation planning and possess excellent problem-solving abilities, we encourage you to apply. MUST have experience in the Transportation industry and knowledge of the port of Houston.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and schedule transportation services to meet customer demands

- Plan and optimize routes for efficient delivery of goods

- Communicate with drivers to provide instructions and updates on delivery schedules

- Monitor driver progress and address any delays or issues that may arise

- Utilize phone systems and computer software (AS400, SyteLine) to track shipments and update records

- Collaborate with internal teams, such as supply chain and customer service, to ensure smooth operations

- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently

- Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions

- Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and other stakeholders regarding shipment status and updates

- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in logistics or transportation is a plus

- Proven experience in dispatching or transportation planning, preferably within a 3PL environment

- Familiarity with phone systems and computer software used in dispatch operations (PortPro, Samsara)

- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and freight management

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks

- Ability to analyze information and make informed decisions quickly

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
