Logistics Supervisor

Job DescriptionBoyd Corporation (Billerica) is seeking a Warehouse/Logistics supervisor with 6+ years of experience. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, where multi- tasking is a must, then you will be a great addition to our Supply Chain team. To be considered for the position, you must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have experience in a manufacturing environment.PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIESANDDUTIES:Train and supervise Stockroom personnel including receiving, shipping, and material handlers to ensure daily priorities are established and successfully completedWork closely with other Lytron personnel to resolve material handling, storage and shipping issuesManage the Cycle Count programMaintain strong relationship with Planning, Sourcing, Operations, Sales, Finance, Engineering and other associated functional team leaders to develop, assist, and/or lead various project groupsManage and coordinate the organization, staffing, and operational activities for stockroom and shipping & receivingParticipate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the organizationDirectandreviewwork plan for assigned staffMonitor stockroom, manufacturing cells & warehouse material usageProvide assistance in warehouse space utilization by designing facility layouts to achieve maximum storage efficiencyEffectively manage trucking and other transportation suppliersMaintain and promote accurate records and files of inventory usageMeetwithstafftoidentify and resolve problemsSelect,train,motivate,andevaluateassigned personnelPrepare and present staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessaryAssistwithbudgetpreparation and administrationCoordinate warehousing and storeroom activities with outside agencies and organizationsDiscover new trends and innovations in the fields of warehousing and storage programsCommunicate activities effectively with both internal and external customersImplement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe EDUCATION,EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:BS/BA degree (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 6 years of experience in Logistics, stockroom, shipping and receiving with a strong understanding, credibility, and comfort to work with front-line operations management and cross-functional teamsExperience in Government packaging a plusExperience working in a Union environment a plusExperience supporting operations producing highly engineered mechanical products lines is also preferred.Strongtechnicalandanalytical skills; process driven with attention to detailSuccessful with driving results within a manufacturing organization while embracing Lean principlesAdept with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and PowerPointRequirementsBoyd Corporation (Billerica) is seeking a Warehouse/Logistics supervisor with 6+ years of experience.
