* Status: fulltime
* Hours per week: 36
* Weekend Requirements: one weekend per pay period
* Shift: day and night

*Licensure Certification*
* Current California RN license OR temporary CA license. (Must have proof of temp license to submit) \*Interim CA Licenses not accepted. Licenses in "Probation" status not accepted.
* BLS required and ACLS & NRP within 90 days of hire

*Other Qualifications*
* Experience: Minimum of one year of experience

*About the Unit*
* 13 labor rooms, 26 post-partum beds, and 2 OR suites
* Ratio; 1:4
* Monitors labor and fetal wellbeing and contractions and helps patients with breathing techniques.
* Checks patient’s cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
* Consistently applies knowledge of hemodynamics and of AWHOON fetal nomenclature for Category I, II, and III and recognizes when fetus is in distress.
* Manages IV infusions for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4 and continuous lumbar epidural, and frequently assesses patient’s response.
* Contacts anesthesia when/if patient is ready for epidural; ascertains proper time and contacts delivering physician at appropriate time.
* Provides immediate care of newborn (clean, weigh, etc.) Assigns Apgar score."
