92NY is seeking an Instructor of Jewelry for 2.5 hours on weekdays, weekends and evenings from beginner to advanced.
Classes range from beginner to advanced. Skill levels required vary for each position.
Job Responsibilities IncludeBeginner classes: A solid ability to perform and teach the fundamentals of jewelry, sawing, filing, forming polishing, soldering, basic fabrication including Bezel settings in sheet metal and wire.
Intermediate classes: A solid ability to perform and teach the fundamentals of jewelry above additionally to perform more complicated fabrication in sterling silver and gold and intermediate stone settings such as basic prong settings.
Advanced classes: In addition to the skills required above, a solid understanding of advanced fabrication and stone setting skills.
Experience, Education, & Skills DesiredBFA or the professional equivalent & experience.
Minimum of 1 year teaching jewelry courses.
Strong communication and instruction/education skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to effectively engage and teach participants attending courses both in-person and online.
Work Environment & RequirementsPer Diem Compensation Range
$44 - $72/hour (based on enrollment as outlined below)
5-7 students $44/hour
8-9 students $48/hour
10-13 students $57/hour
14-17 students $62/hour
18+ students $72/hour
