SUMMARY

The Emergency Quality Specialist creates, manages and evaluates education/training programs and services, develops related goals and objectives, recommends policies, and evaluates program outcomes. All educational offerings provided by the Emergency Quality Specialist should primarily be based on the Cognitive, Humanist, and/or Brain-Based Learning Theories. The role of the Emergency Quality Specialist may include, direct patient/family care, consultation, change agent, teaching/coaching/mentoring, research, patient advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership & professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
* Masters' Degree in Nursing preferred
* 5 years of Emergency Department experience
* High volume Emergency experience preferred.
* Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
* Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) through ANCC or CNE certification
* TNCC
* Instructor Status in BLS, ACLS or PALS preferred
