The Nutritionist provides optimal nutrition services as an integral part of the healthcare system and within the local community. To strive for continuous

Qualifications:
Required:
+ BS or advanced degree with major studies in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics
Scheduling Requirements:
+ Day Shift
+ Per Diem (schedule will vary based on the needs of the department)
Essential Functions:
+ Confers with physicians, nursing and case management as related to total patient care. Attends patient care conferences
+ Demonstrates the ability to identify patient nutrition needs
+ Demonstrates the ability to identify what the patient s needs are
+ Documents all pertinent information in the patient's medical record in a timely manner according to departmental policy
+ Helps plan and implement nutrition projects for the community through services such as speaking engagements and classes
+ Instructs patients/families on appropriate diet therapy
+ Participates in the interdisciplinary patient teaching process
+ Participates in the managerial and administrative functions through self-directed team work
+ Performance improvement and data collection for quality indicators as designated
+ Provides lectures and education for nursing and medical staff when appropriate
+ Reviews medical records, assesses patient needs and implements an appropriate nutritional care plan to provide optimal care
