Dryden Community Schools - websiteDryden Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for its Emotionally Impaired (EI) program. Must have a valid Michigan teaching certificate. SE certification is required. Candidates must meet Michigan Department of Education Highly Qualified standards. Teacher will teach both academic and social skills to emotionally impaired students considering such factors as physical, emotional and education levels. Teacher will confer with parents, administrators, psychologists, social workers and others to develop individual educational programs for students who are at different learning ability levels. Teacher will instruct students in academic subjects utilizing current best teaching practices including the use of progress monitoring and behavioral data associated with FBA/BIP's. Individual will schedule, participate in and/or conduct MET/EPT meetings and establish instructional and behavioral objectives for students through the IEP process. Teacher will analyze and record behavioral and academic skills and progress of students and maintain a positive classroom environment utilizing positive behavior management techniques.
Teacher will assist with supervision of classroom paraprofessionals and supervise the planning, assigning and directing of work of paraprofessionals and other classroom staff as it relates to students. The individual will also resolve issues in a proactive and positive manner, and work as a team. Salary per Collective Bargaining Agreement. Please apply online.
