* UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

* Administers care to patient population which ranges from neonates to geriatrics.
* Works cooperatively and interdependently with emergency, prehospital, law enforcement, and ancillary personnel while coordinating the emergent and critical care of patients requiring helicopter transportation.
* Markets the Air 1 program and serves as a representative of the department as well as the UT Health East Texas System when involved with a public relations activity and/or marketing activity.
* Understands and supports the UT Health East Texas Mission, Vision, And Values.
* Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Certificate from an accredited EMT/Paramedic program.
* Texas EMT-P certification
* National Registry EMT-P (NREMT-P)
* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
* Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS)
* Certified Flight Paramedic Credential (FP-C) within 6 months of employment. If the Crew member is an RN working in the Paramedic role the CFRN will take the place of the required Certification.
* PALS
* NRP
* ACLS
* At least three years prehospital experience in a lead paramedic role

Preferred Job Requirements:

* Previous flight paramedic experience
