Position Summary Description:

Drives containers to and from the port of Los Angeles. Daily truck inspection and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Is available to work between the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
  • Hauls full and empty containers between HPL and the Port of Los Angeles.
  • Moves containers around the HPL yard as needed.
  • Performs daily inspection of truck, and general maintenance, including fueling and cleaning.
  • Follows all federal and state driver guidelines.
  • Performs similar and related duties as required by Supervisor.
  • Uses the Company's Mission/Vision Statements and Core Values as their guiding principles.

Qualifications:

Education/Training and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least one year of driving experience and be familiar with local roadways, and townships within the route area.
  • Must be able to read road signs, building numbers, and maps.
  • Port experience is required

Communication Skills
  • Must be proficient in the English language.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with route customers, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A)
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (PUC Card)
  • TWIC Card
  • Clean Traffic Abstract
  • Forklift Certification
