Information System Security Analyst

Salary: $103,000 Our client is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Incident Responder
This role involves collaborating with our client to identify, respond to, mitigate, investigate, and report cyber threats that may impact their networks
The successful candidate will play a vital role in a large-scale program focused on developing and maintaining a network operations environment, integrating new cyber capabilities to counter evolving threats
Key aspects of this role include working in shifts, which may cover nights and weekends
Key Responsibilities: • Lead the response to cybersecurity incidents, communicating developments to stakeholders and leadership
• Stay informed about current cyber vulnerabilities, as well as response and mitigation strategies in cybersecurity operations
• Create reports and presentations to accurately reflect the threat landscape and related risks
• Investigate cyber activities targeting the customer's information and infrastructure
• Provide guidance and educational support to Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) members
• Act as a liaison with other government agencies involved in cyber threat analysis, including participation in inter-agency Cyber Threat Working Groups
• Analyze, report on, and assist in countering, identifying, monitoring, investigating, and analyzing network intrusions
• Adhere to and maintain the required standards for Information Assurance training compliance as set by the customer
Essential Skills and Qualifications: • U.S
Citizenship
• Active/current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
• Eligibility for DHS suitability before employment commencement
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in AWS security and cloud security investigations
• Experience in incident response using Splunk
• Background in penetration testing (red/blue/purple team activities)
• Expertise in various types of security investigations (e.g., OS, Network, Web Application, Cloud Forensics)
• Prior experience in Linux/Windows/Network administration
• Ability to work collaboratively across different agencies and locations
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Skills: • Direct experience in detecting, responding to, and reporting cyber threats in client networks
• Background in computer intrusion analysis and incident response
• Proficiency in network surveillance/monitoring
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, network devices, multiple operating systems, and secure architectures
• Experience in computer evidence seizure, forensic analysis, and data recovery
• Skill in System log analysis
• Experience in network intrusion detection and response operations
• Familiarity with current cyber threats and corresponding strategies used in network infiltration
• Proficiency in AWS security solutions and cloud security investigations
Desired Certifications: • Certifications such as SANS GCIH, GCFA, GCFR, Splunk Power User or higher
• AWS Certified Practitioner or higher
• CISSP, CCNP, CCSP, or similar certifications
Required Education: • A Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field, or a High School Diploma with 14 years of relevant experience.
