Duties
• You will performs network management, network administration, and customer support functions.
• You will provide oversight, technical guidance, and thorough analysis in response to queries affecting all sites within the Western Region regarding Enterprise trouble calls.
• You will support and assist in the installation of new systems and upgrade of existing systems.
• You will manage the circuit and gateway encryption devices for the Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET) by coordinating to ensure configurations are current and accurate.
• You will provide support, resolution of problems, and recovery of operating malfunctions and various hardware component failures.
• You will conduct analyses of data communications equipment and networking systems to ensure that maximum capabilities are achieved

• This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position
You must obtain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Network Operations Specialist, level Full Performance within 12 months of appointment
Qualifications Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position
Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position
Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled
Qualifying experience at the next lower grade would be demonstrated by:
(1) Plan, implement, track and/or evaluate configuration/requirement changes across the enterprise and organizations.
(2) Implement, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and/or maintain network systems and associated activities
(3) Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation to support hardware/software lifecycle (installation, operation, change and removal)
This position is within the Work Category-Professional at Work Level-Full Performance, Series 2210 and Grade GG-12

JOB SUMMARY:
This position serves as an Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity Specialist 1st Network Bn
and reports directly to the Supervisory Information Technology Specialist 2210- GS-13
Incumbent is responsible for the execution and oversight of 1st Network Bn
enterprise-level actions that facilitate continuation of Marine Corps Enterprise Network services
Incumbent is responsible for providing network security, risk management planning, and technical oversight for Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) assignments and projects in the Western region which encompasses all Marine Installations that the 1st Network Bn
Provides Information Technology services to the customers that work on those Bases, Posts and Stations
The scope of functional responsibilities encompasses all program phases, to include preparing and maintaining the currency of policy and process guidelines, supporting the design and implementation of effective network security design elements, providing oversight for network security operations, and assessing the effectiveness of implemented Enterprise MCEN-N/S security features and operations
