Fergus Falls Public SchoolsThe Fergus Falls School District is seeking to fill a para educator position (staff & computer food service) at McKinley School for the 2024-25 school year. This position is for 7 hours/day during student contact days.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The tasks listed below are not intended to limit other tasks that might reasonably be assigned as necessary.
  1. Operate machines as required (copy machines, die cut, cold laminator, thermal laminator, computer, printers and binder). Make labels, lists, do letters, etc. as requested.
  2. Attend trainings for various health issues (administering epi pen and glucagons as needed) and emergency situations; required staff, committee, training and inservice meetings including computer updates.
  3. Alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student and maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
  4. Attend required staff training and inservice meetings, including those related to computer software updates.
  5. Inventory and requisition all supplies, materials and equipment.
  6. Supervise students in the breakfast/lunch line while operating computer, bus loading activities, outside supervision and as needed.
  7. Maintain full responsibility for breakfast and lunchroom computer including:
  • Participate in the fall back-to-school open house to collect money for students' meal accounts
  • Maintain accurate data on all McKinley students including notifying staff of balances, monitor food trays
  • Handle lunch account shortages with tact and confidentiality (students & parents)
  • Operate breakfast & lunch line
  • Notify parents of any changes in the hot lunch program re: payments, status and reimbursements
  • Organize all money received, balance accounts, process money (fill out appropriate forms, deposit slips, stamp checks) and send to administration for bank deposit
  • Monitor trays for required basic food items (Offer vs Serve)
  • Attend summer training seminars if needed
  • Train subs to fill in when needed
  • Keep the computer program updated and running smoothly via the internet
  • Contact technicians as necessary and make repairs on computers and computer programs if able. Contact local technicians if unable to fix problems
  • Complete year end accounting
  1. Assist and supervise students in the library for library time.
  2. Assist other para-educators as needed.
  3. Assist with supervision on field trips as needed.
