Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Nursing care of pre/post and intra-op patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures in an outpatient setting. Must possess a positive and professional attitude to interact with patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, and have the critical thinking skills to make independent and group decisions to provide safe and effective patient care.


Pay: $83,200.00 - $93,600.00 per year


Certification/Licensure Requirement:

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required by start date.
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required by start date.
  • Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of Florida as required by position start date.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide pre/intra/post procedure nursing care (assessment, monitoring, intervention and education) related to diagnostic and therapeutic adult cardiac catheterization procedures including (but not limited to) angioplasty, coronary stents, Swan Ganz/right heart catheterization, Peripheral Artery and Venous interventions and Cardiac Rhythm Management.
  • Actively monitor patient vitals during adult vascular procedures. Participate in life-saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
  • Operate intra-aortic balloon pump console. Troubleshoot equipment issues and/or initiate repair.
  • Operate physiologic recorder and printer to monitor electocardiogram and hemodynamic data.
  • Administer IV an dOral medications to patients.
  • Manage patients under procedural sedation.
  • Demonstrates competency in caring for post-op patients with frequent vital signs and assessment skills
  • May be required to train and provide cross-coverage for Pre- and Post-Recovery Unit and Operative suite.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
