The Institutional businesses are undergoing growth and represent a key component of the company’s business strategy. In this role, the candidate will utilize their technical knowledge, business acumen, leadership and relationship management skills to support risk-controlled growth of the longevity reinsurance business.The TeamAs a member of the Longevity Reinsurance Product and Pricing team, you’ll be part of a very collaborative group of actuaries that team together to get the job done. Members of the team have the opportunity to partner across the enterprise to facilitate risk-controlled growth.The ImpactOwnership of the actuarial workstream for product and market development efforts:Economic evaluation of new products, deal structures, and marketsEvaluation of key risks and development of appropriate pricing methodologiesCollaboration with key business partners to support risk-controlled growth of the business, including Product and Assumption Oversight, Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Reinsurance, Accounting, Treasury, and other partnersPricing model ownership - including development, maintenance, and pricing methodology across multiple product linesAssumption development, socialization and maintenanceTransaction support – underwriting, pricing, profitability analysis, project management, and socialization effortsSolicit & analyze competitive dataInfluence and contribute to ongoing business strategy and growthOther actuarial projects in support of the longevity reinsurance businessThe Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative disciplineFellowship of Society of Actuaries (FSA), or Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) 4+ years of related actuarial experienceThe Ideal Qualifications6+ years of related actuarial experience2+ years of experience with pricing or product developmentKnowledgeable in evaluating and pricing longevity riskDemonstrates leadership and influenceStrong grasp of actuarial concepts, including the ability to quickly and independently evaluate and model new products and marketsCommunication and presentation skills, ability to translate complex concepts for a broad audienceDemonstrates ownership and sense of urgencyDetail oriented with strong analytic and problem solving capabilities, ability to identify solutions that effectively address business needsSuperior ability to work collaboratively within and across organizationsWhat to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the TeamRegular meetings with the Longevity Reinsurance Product Development and Pricing teamsFocused one-on-one meetings with your managerAccess to mentorship opportunitiesNetworking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQ, veteran and disability-focused Business Resource GroupsAccess to learning content on Degreed and other informational platformsYour ethics and integrity will be valued by a company with a strong and stable ethical business with industry leading pay and benefits#LI-CM1Salary Range:$137,800.00-$180,800.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees. Your total compensation package includes either a bonus target or in a sales-focused role a Variable Incentive Compensation component.Why Join Us.We’ve been around since 1851.
