This position is full-time (40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts) that works day shift collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to maintain and propose best new treatment practice order sets in accordance with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines and primary literature. At the Newark Campus, operations run through a network of inpatient pharmacists, including a central pharmacy and satellite pharmacies that focus on critical care, emergency medicine, heart failure, investigational drugs, neonates, oncology, pediatrics, perioperative services, sterile and non-sterile compounding, transplant, and trauma. Clinical services include robust acute and ambulatory care services. In the acute care setting, the department employs a decentralized model of practice, placing pharmacists directly into patient care units as part of a multidisciplinary team. Generous PTO plan and 12-Week Fully Paid Parental Leave 403(b) with competitive employer match and Defined Contribution Retirement Plan Not-for-profit organization eligible with the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program Pharmacy Board Certification reimbursement As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist you will: Serve as the pharmacy lead and point of contact for hematology and oncology order sets Facilitate and collaborate with appropriate caregivers in the development, reviewing and updating of hematology and oncology orders sets with an understanding of the pharmacy operational impact of such order sets Work collaboratively with IVAS Newark campus in the operational implementation of hematology/oncology order sets and PowerPlans Evaluate drug efficacy, monitor therapeutic goals and outcomes, and review for contraindications/precautions Order and evaluate laboratory tests per approved protocols to support medication therapy monitoring Electronically document interventions and provide sign out as appropriate Opportunities to serve as a preceptor for both pharmacy students and residents Assist with projects such as MUEs, drug monographs, and performance improvement activities Review and interpret provider orders and dispense medication Serve as a representative for the Department of Pharmacy on appropriate hospital committees/projects including oncology drug management Navigate oncology drug shortages, including recommendation of alternative therapies when appropriate Education and Experience Requirements : PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency required ASHP accredited PGY2 specialty residency in Oncology required (or equivalent experience) Board Certification in Oncology required or obtained within 2 years of hire Current licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in the State of Delaware About ChristianaCare: ChristianaCare is one of the country's most dynamic health systems, centered on improving health outcomes, making high-quality care more accessible and lowering health care costs.
