DescriptionSUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTSJOB TITLE: Director, Supply Chain REQUISITION ID: CFO003TDEPARTMENT: Supply Chain – Topeka General Office or Kansas City HeadquartersLOCATION: Kansas City, MO Topeka, KS PAY RANGE: Minimum: $121,000 – Midpoint: $161,300 Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Additional hours as required)Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for leading warehouse operations and material logistics across the Evergy service territory. Leading a safe, efficient, and engaged team of hourly bargaining unit, salaried, and management personnel is a primary responsibility. Predictably supplying the right materials when they are needed and where they are needed to support reliable, affordable, and sustainable operations. Key areas of focus include driving improvement in inventory fill rate, inventory planning, inventory efficiency, improving warehouse and laydown yard utilization, efficient logistics, material controls and oversight, and consistent processes.QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Industrial Distribution, Engineering or related field is preferred.• Ten years of experience in inventory control or a related materials management function required. Additional experience and provided demonstrated mastery of the skills, knowledge and abilities described below may be substituted for a portion of the educational and experience requirements. • Minimum of three years of experience managing direct reports and interacting with indirect reports across functional lines.• Experience and understanding of utility operations is preferred.Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:• Lead a continuous learning culture that always puts safety first.• Must possess the ability to attract and develop talent.• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing across all levels of the company to include formal and informal presentations to small and large groups.• Capable of finding alignment and a path forward with multiple stakeholders to prioritize efforts, resolve conflicts, and provide a clear direction. • Ability to assess organizational and operational effectiveness and drive changes that will improve operating processes, technology utilization, and performance. • Develops and implements inventory control procedures and processes.• Develops working relationships with Supply Chain partners to gain a full understanding of operational requirements. • Must possess excellent business judgment and a practical approach to getting things done.• Ability to urgently respond and lead during times of emergency to support restoration and outage situations. Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Must have a valid driver’s license.Working Conditions: This position works in a combination of office, warehouse, laydown yard, and job site work environments. During normal conditions, work is performed primarily Monday through Friday on days. This position is required to respond and work on nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary to support operations. Responsibility territory spans across the eastern half of Kansas and Western half of Missouri so frequent day travel is required. Little but occasional overnight travel is required.
