Job Details
The Mammographic Technologist will utilize their knowledge of screening and diagnostic mammography and be able to perform stereotactic biopsies in addition to localizations. He/she must relate well to others and be in compliance with MQSA standards.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation.
* Responsible to the safe handling of equipment.
* Instructs and prepares patients for breast procedures
* Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure
* Makes special radiographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures such as mammographies, needle localizations, and stereotactic biopsies.
* Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
* Employs correct film labeling and lead markers and evaluates images for proper diagnostic quality.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent and two years of x-ray training in a certified school
* NYS x-ray license, ARRT and mammography registry
* Knowledge of Epic and Magview
* At least 2 years mammography experience
Salary Range
USD $44.68 - USD $58.80 /Hr.
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
