The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients while adhering to compliance standards. This candidate should be able to recognize patient needs and prioritize those needs with the needs outlined by physicians.


Expectations & Essential Job Functions

• Participate fully in assuring that FSH is a safe, functional, and effective environment for patients, employees, and all visitors. Will speak up, report and intervene.

• Will demonstrate competency in the core principles of Trauma Informed Care as it relates to both employees and clients, focusing on safety, and building on strengths and resilience.

• Embrace cultural diversity with appreciation of the differences that make us unique as demonstrated by respect and kindness toward clients and employees.

• Follow safe work practices by using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided per policy. Maintain ongoing competency and mandatory training as applicable and directed.

• It is expected that performance and behaviors are consistent with the FSH Mission, Vision, Values as well as all applicable FSH policies, DMH regulations, laws and standards.(See attached continuation.)


• Adheres to ethical and legal requirements of nursing profession as outlined in the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and the ANA Code of Ethics.

• Assesses and evaluates patient's mental and physical condition in order to assure quality nursing care.

• Implement assigned program interventions and procedures.

• Teaches living skills, medication therapy, symptom management, and other health maintenance needs to patients.

• Responds to, participates in, and directs crisis interventions (assaultive behavior, suicide attempts, etc.) in order to assure safety of patients, staff, and the general public, which may include the utilization of C.P.R. and aggression management.

• Supervises and/or administers medications and treatments in compliance with doctor's orders.

• Assures development, maintenance and correctness, nursing assessments, progress notes, monthly summary notes, flow sheets, and other required documentation.

• Assesses, implements, plans, and evaluates patient individual nursing care plans by working with team members.

• Maintains compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards and the centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) conditions of participation.


Responsibilities

  • Assure quality care by adhering to standards set by the physicians
  • Provide care education to patients in person or over the phone
  • Adhere to compliance guidelines throughout processes (OSHA, FDA, HIPAA)


Qualifications


  • Must be a Registered Professional Nurse with current licensure
  • CPR, ACLS, and BCLS Certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance


Pay DOE between 40-62 per hour
