We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Registered Nurse-Psychiatric Unit to join the Mountainside Team

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

The Registered Nurse-Psychiatric Unit, will direct and oversee the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.

The successful candidate will be able to:

* Perform through and timely assessment of patient's condition including physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative aspects

* Report pertinent observations regarding the patient to the physician, and other team members

* Discuss patient care as it relates to evidence based practice/s

* Develop individualized patient care plans

* Provide education consistent with the patient/family's learning abilities and preferences

* Administer medications to patients in an accurate and timely manner

* Appropriately provide charting updates to patient's medical records

* Transcribe, verify, and carry out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner

* Recognize and respond to opportunities to enhance overall patient experience

* Precept newly employed team members and students

* Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards

* Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

* Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary strategies

* Perform any and all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

* Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required, Bachelor's of Nursing Degree preferred
* A minimum of 1 year experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric or behavioral health care facility preferred
* Current and valid NJ Registered Nurse license
* BLS certification required
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Customer/patient centric attitude a must
