Overview:

I'm working with a client of mine who's looking to add an associate to their Portfolio Management- Special Situation group. The Portfolio Group works side-by-side with Special Situations leadership and deal teams to provide extensive support, whenever and wherever needed on analytical, strategic, and operating issues. These capabilities help to optimize the firm's funds through leverage, cash management, and portfolio construction, and to develop and execute strategies in underlying portfolio companies to gain competitive advantage and achieve superior growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and upkeep projection models for all GSS funds and SMAs
  • Oversee cash position of GSS funds, manage funding pipeline, and coordinate capital calls/distributions
  • Aid in fund financing endeavors, encompassing structuring, modeling, and analyzing fund-level impacts
  • Provide analytical aid in fundraising and investor reporting procedures for the GSS business
  • Assist in overseeing the US Special Situations portfolio reporting, focusing on tracking value creation initiatives, risk factors, and KPIs
  • Maintain a comprehensive system for tracking fund information for the entire Special Situations business, covering asset allocations, capital activity, investor composition, returns history and trajectory, fund financings, risk factors, and value creation initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Solid academic background (BS/BA from a reputable institution) coupled with a proven track record of successful professional experience
  • 1-4 years of experience in corporate or finance roles, preferably with prior exposure to asset management
  • Proficient in Excel with the ability to efficiently analyze extensive datasets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of managing relationships across various organizational hierarchies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • A positive, proactive demeanor coupled with strong critical thinking skills to generate insightful analyses for complex business inquiries
