The University of Kansas Cancer Center (KUCC) and Department of Population Health seek candidates of exceptional potential and emerging scholarship to enhance our Cancer Prevention and Control research portfolio. We seek outstanding candidates who will play a major role in KUCC's population science initiatives to address cancer health disparities across the life course, including tobacco control; lifestyle/obesity and biomarkers of cancer risk; cancer genetics; screening, early detection and care delivery through cancer survivorship. Ideal candidates will have a progressive research agenda aimed at accelerating uptake of evidence-based practices using innovative approaches and rigorous methods. Multiple hires are expected for 12-mos tenure-track positions for first time or late Assistant Professor. Mid-career investigators may also be considered.

The University of Kansas Cancer Center is the region's only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, where patients gain access to the most promising therapies, cutting-edge clinical trials and world-class research. The Cancer Prevention and Control Program includes over 50 scientists across 3 campuses and multiple schools and departments (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition, Population Health, Psychology) across KU Medical Center, KU Lawrence, and Children's Mercy Hospital. The Masonic Cancer Alliance is the KUCC outreach network linking hospital, oncologists and primary care physicians, nurses, patients and their families throughout Kansas and Western Missouri to advance quality and reach of prevention and early detection, treatment and survivorship care across the Heartland. KUCC investigators have access to exceptional campus resources to support diverse community engagement and recruitment, quantitative analytics and health informatics, with multiple opportunities for collaboration across clinical areas, the KU School of Health Professions, School of Nursing, KU Alzheimer's Disease Center, KU Diabetes Institute, and Frontiers Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

The Department of Population Health, located in the School of Medicine, provides a robust, interdisciplinary research environment in an academic medical center setting. The Department is committed to addressing rural and urban health inequities through sustained partnership with community organizations, government agencies, health systems and other stakeholders serving diverse communities and across the care delivery continuum in our rapidly growing, multicultural Midwest context. The Department has hosted the statewide Kansas Cancer Registry since 1994. In addition to a record of partnership with state and regional health authorities, population health scientists have long-standing collaborations with many community and clinical partners in both urban and rural locations, providing a rich environment for impactful implementation science and community-engaged research. With faculty on three campuses - Kansas City, Wichita, Salina - the Department is the academic home for graduate education leading to the MHSA, MPH, MSCR, and PhD.

Competitive candidates will have a demonstrable research focus in a population science, such as behavioral interventions, epidemiology, healthcare delivery research, implementation science, or outcomes and health services research. Joint or secondary appointments for clinician investigators are possible.

Job Description:

* Record of scholarship in peer-reviewed publications, appropriate to rank.

Preferred Qualifications:
