Responsibilities

Set the strategic direction, development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for Surgical Services.

* Develop departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
* Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
* Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and directs internal/external audits.
* Direct and evaluate all clinical activities, including care plan development, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
* Work collaboratively with physicians, administration and directors to develop streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.
* Remove obstacles to achieving clinical quality, service excellence and financial effectiveness targets.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

* BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
* Nurse Executive credentialed from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) preferred.
* Nurse Executive credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) preferred.
* Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing preferred.

Education:

* Bachelor's degree required.
* Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

* 7 years of experience required.
* 10 years of experience preferred.
* 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
