Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Speech Therapist to join the Central Maine Medical Center Acute Care/Acute Rehab team

The Opportunity

The Acute Care Therapy team at Central Maine Medical Center is seeking an experienced Acute Care/Acute Rehab Speech Therapist for full-time opportunity on the inpatient team.

This position makes a direct positive impact on the Lewiston community by providing physical therapy services to CMMC's inpatient population. What You'll Do

+ Diagnoses speech/language or swallowing disorders/delays

+ Provides intervention/consultations for patients who demonstrate disorders/delays in speech, language, communication and/or swallowing.

+ Provides treatment and instruction to patients according to acceptable principles and practices of Speech/Language Therapy.

+ Follows acceptable principles/practices of the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

+ Provide care to patients in the acute care setting.

+ Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities

+ Collaborate as a member of the healthcare team for the provision of comprehensive patient care.

+ Consistent with training and competency review, provides care to Inpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

+ Maintains training and competency as applicable in regulatory requirements such as JCAHO (if applicable), and state and federal regulations and standards.

+ Coordinate, delegate and supervise responsibilities assigned to assistants, aides, etc.

+ Ability to meet current documentation standards and policies in a timely fashion.

+ Strong written and verbal skills.

+ Basic computer skills.

Requirements and Qualifications for the Position

+ Current Maine Licensure in Speech Pathology.

+ Obtain or eligible for Clinical Competence Certificate through the American Speech Language, Hearing Association.

+ Current BCLS certification.
