River Valley Community College is accepting applications for faculty teaching position in our Respiratory Therapy program; strong academic background is required. River Valley Community College can only hire faculty who reside in the six (6) New England states.

SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students and to develop curricula in the Respiratory Therapy program and to assist in departmental and/or institutional activities that support the mission of the college. This position is located within the Department of Allied Health and shall report to the Department Chair of that department.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Education with responsibility for directing all aspects of the clinical experiences for students enrolled in the program, including organizing, administering, reviewing, and revising clinical instruction and outcomes for evolving practice skills, developing clinical locations (with appropriate supervision) and overseeing the general effectiveness of the clinical experience.
* Teaches assigned Respiratory Therapy courses within a classroom, laboratory, and/or clinic/field experience setting, as assigned.
* Supervises student learning activities and academic progress and maintains accurate records of student progress and accomplishments. Consults with and interprets these for students and maintains accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs.
* Participates in departmental activities and operations by assisting in the review and development of credit and non-credit programs and/or courses, seeking and maintaining contact with business and industry within the specialized field of instruction, assisting in articulation initiatives, maintaining educational equipment and spaces, and requisitioning instructional equipment, supplies or classroom materials.
* Performs administrative duties associated with maintaining a safe work environment, training employees, communicating job expectations; monitoring and appraising job performance; and managing employee time and attendance in accordance with the CCSNH and College policies and procedures, the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and state and federal regulations.
* Assists in the planning, development, and implementation of college sponsored recruitment and retention activities including career and job fairs, student orientations, registrations, and award ceremonies, and/or advising student activity groups, as assigned.
* Engages in professional activities related to the area of teaching specialization by serving on college or system teams, advising pre-RT students or other students as assigned, and participating in community-sponsored events, as assigned.
* Assists with accreditation processes including data collection, report writing, and all ongoing efforts to maintain accreditation status with the CoARC.
* Observes all academic policies and procedures and institutional rules and regulations and demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.
* Serves on and leads college or system committees, as assigned.
* Maintains competence in Respiratory Therapy through a variety of methods such as participation in continuing education activities and clinical practice.
* Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations.
* Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Education, Adult Education or Respiratory Therapy. Possession of a Master's degree in Education or Adult Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in Respiratory Therapy or in Health related discipline and a Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: Three years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Respiratory Therapy instructor, with least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care and/or two (2) years experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member within a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.

OR

Education: Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Education or Respiratory Therapy. Possession of a Bachelors degree in Education shall require an Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Experience: Four (4) years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Respiratory Therapy Instructor, with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care and/or two (2) years experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.

Licensure/Certifications: Valid drivers license. Valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program within one year of employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in Respiratory Therapy. Experience in collaborative co-teaching environments, online teaching, curriculum development, course equivalency evaluation, and the creation of transfer and articulation agreements. Familiarity with teaching and clinical software including Zoom, Canvas, and Trajecsys.
